KGID Jeju 2024 Grant Team Spotlight | Building a Green Agri-Food Ecosystem in Uganda

Korea Green Innovation Days (KGID) is a flagship knowledge-sharing event on Green Growth organized and funded by the World Bank Korea Green Growth Trust Fund (KGGTF). Now in its 13th edition, KGID has a rich history of facilitating the exchange of practical examples and innovative approaches to achieving sustainable development. 

Over twenty World Bank project teams, with representatives from client countries benefiting from KGGTF grants, will participate in this diverse gathering that highlights project impacts, real-life examples, and creative solutions from development practitioners, offering insights into innovative policies and technologies while fostering networking through pre-arranged bilateral meetings.

Grant name: Building a Green Agri-Food Ecosystem in UgandaUg1

Grant objective: To pilot AI based climate-smart agriculture solutions under the Uganda Climate Smart Agricultural Transformation Project (P173296), seeking to enhance agricultural resilience, productivity, and sustainability.

Who are the intended beneficiaries?: Immediate beneficiaries are coffee and pineapple farmers in Uganda, and the project aims to extend benefits to smallholder farmers more broadly across the region.

  • The pilot is being implemented by K-Partner Sherpa Space through the local partner Jabba Engineering, which was identified through a recently concluded lending program (ACDP) in Uganda. This serves as an excellent example of fostering local enterprises through the integration of advanced K-Partner technologies.
